Review: Fresh Crème Ancienne Ultimate Nourishing Honey Mask

So since I am trying to limit my spending, I am going through my samples and products I currently own. This is a little sample my friend (who works at Sephora) gave me a couple weeks ago when I was there. I did not know of this product and she recommended it so I really went into trying this completely blind. This little jar gave me enough for 2 or 3 applications, since the product is sticky and you really don’t need too much of it to cover your face. It smells like honey, which I definitely expected. I also looked it up to see what else was in it, because it had another scent that was familiar but I couldn’t place. That smell is Echinacea. This mask also contains (according to Sephora website) “meadowfoam seed oil, which has a unique fatty acid composition that provides supreme nourishment; seabuckthorn oil, rich in moisturizing omegas and protective antioxidants; shea butter, which helps to hydrate and nourish the skin; and vitamin E, which provides antioxidant protection against wrinkle-causing free radicals“.

Whoa. And does it ever moisturize. My skin is so supple and moisturized right now. It has been off for about two hours and my skin feels fresh and soft like after applying a thick lotion.

Well there is some bad news in this review. Upon further research I stumbled upon the retail price for a jar of this magical mask. This product retails for 152$… yes that is not a typo, one hundred and fifty-two dollars. I suggest getting samples. I know I will never be able to purchase this product at full price. It is just too much for me. Maybe there will be an amazing sale someday, but until then I will use my sample sparingly and I may need to go back for another sample later.

Update: When I mentioned to my friend who gave me the sample that the price is crazy, she gave me a couple alternatives that I will share with you. She said try Clarins HydraQuench mask or First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Oatmeal Mask. So I will need to try these out to compare, but hopefully this is true 🙂
