Smashbox Photoshoot Event

Hello there everyone!

Sephora held an event May 30-31 at the Sephora in our mall and as part of the event you spent 75$ on Smashbox products and received a free makeover, a photo shoot CD and samples. For those of you who use Smashbox, you know spending 75$ is not a large feat. My usual BB Cream is 50$. Anyways, here is what I came home with after this fun experience.

First of all during this trip I hit the VIB Rouge Status. When you become VIB Rouge you receive this pretty red card and a mini Bite Lipstick in an exclusive VIB Rouge red. You also receive a little card behind the red one that makes you eligible for free makeovers anytime you want one as long as you book an appointment. I will love this perk since I love having my makeup done.

Next I will show you my actual purchases. This is what I bought from the Smashbox section. I bought the oil-free photo finish primer which I have used from sample packets I have received and I love it! I also purchased the CC cream after trying it in store, since my store was sold out of my usual BB Cream in Fair. I will keep using this and see if I like it better than the BB in the long run.

I also purchased another Origins product to add to my addicted collection. I love their products. This smells amazing, it kind of smells like oranges, but you can smell the ginseng and coffee that it contains. I keep this in the shower and love using it to wake up my face in the morning!

The last thing I bought was the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in the shade Diffused Light. This is by far what I was most excited to try. This was the last one in my store and they didn’t have their trial one out, but I had read up on it and was sure of my decision. It is a beautiful finishing powder that makes your skin look like it is glowing from within. Sephora’s website describes Diffused Light as a “soft, warm, pale yellow that reduces redness, eliminates shine, and gives skin clarity”. I love it. It is fantastic. There are 6 different shades that all have different purposes and I recommend checking them out, they probably have one that will appeal to your needs.

Next I used my coupon for a free full size mascara of my choice from my Lash Stash to go kit from last year. I used it to purchase a full sized Lights, Camera, Lashes from Tarte. I tried all the minis in the kit multiple times and this one was the best, whether it was winter, summer, wet or dried up slightly, so I figured it would be the smartest choice.

Next I received samples from Smashbox and my photo shoot CD. As samples I received a black limitless eyeliner pencil, which I have not used yet, a trio of primers (photo finish hydrating under eye, layer lash and photo finish lid) and a packet of face primer. I love the face primer and since I bought the full size this will be nice for traveling. I will need to test out the primers and eyeliner before commenting on them so if anyone wants a review on them let me know.

Finally as part of this trip to the actual Sephora store I made sure to be there when my friend was working. While I just wanted to see her since it had been a while, she used this opportunity to give me samples 🙂 I received two mini pots of a Ole Henriksen Walnut  Complexion Scrub, a Creme Ancienne Ultimate Nourishing Honey Mask from Fresh, a mini vial of my fav perfume DKNY Be Delicious and two packets of GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment, which I have heard great things about. I look forward to trying these out.

I also decided to redeem some points for the 500-point perk of Boscia minis. I have been hearing wonderful things about the entire Boscia line of products and thought this would be an awesome way to test a couple out without paying or committing to an entire bottle. In this mini set they give you a mini vial of Tsubaki Beauty Oil, a mini tube of Bright White Mask and a mini tube of Luminizing Black Mask. If you happen to have 500 points this is a great opportunity to try out this well spoken of line of beauty essentials.

Hope you all enjoyed this little haul, I have two purchases from Sephora in the mail and you can expect another haul soon 🙂
